THE PLACE OF PSYCHIATRY IN POSTMODERN SOCIETY

This article focuses on the problem of psychiatry in modern society, its relation to people with mental disorders. The authors argue that the existing “form of psychiatry”, as a litmus paper, reflects the state of society and its problems, that society should unceasingly seek for a “better form” and not be satisfied with the existing one. The “possible forms” of social-oriented psychiatry aimed at re-socialization of people with mental disorders in the society are presented at the end of the article.
